+ (B) Love is…

Dynamic and energising,
Changing and developing,
Earth moving and demanding,
Demanding and fighting
For justice and rights.
Moving mountains.
Focusing, imagining
Inspiring and bursting
With ideas
Innovations and gifts and talents
Springing
Into action and belief.
Building and creating
And dynamic and life giving
Breathing and growing

Coming to understand that love really does come in an infinite variety of guises and then some, and, inspired by the 70’s cartoons which you may not remember, I wrote two aspects of love as I saw it, one quieter and more contemplative and the other more energetic and doing. I was struggling with the idea of Martha and Mary syndrome, the doer and the listener. In the story in the Gospel of Luke Chap 10: 38-42 Jesus told Martha, (who was fussing about dinner and that he should jolly well tell Mary to help her), that actually Mary had chosen the best way, to listen to Him whilst he was there. Hmm, well see if that gets dinner cooked, house cleaned…

However once written I then interlined the two poems, just playing around, and found to my surprise that I had a third, and completely different, version of love, Mary and Martha, or Martha and Mary, combined…who was I to disagree?
